**Why do I need a dedicated EV charger rather than a socket?**
A dedicated EV charger handles sustained high loads safely and includes safety features not available in standard household sockets. In Norway, the NEK (Norwegian electrotechnical standards body) prohibited using sockets for car charging in 2022 due to fire safety risks from sustained 10–16A loads over many hours. Always check local regulations in your country.

**Why are amina's chargers cheaper than competitors?**
Efficient design and manufacturing. Savings are passed directly to customers. amina's philosophy is that quality EV charging hardware should not require a premium price.

**What circuit breaker protection is required for amina 1 and amina S?**
Protection against overload, short circuit, and AC earth faults is required. Use either an earth-fault circuit breaker Type A, or a standard circuit breaker combined with a separate Type A earth-fault circuit breaker (RCD). Your electrician will specify the correct rating.

**Can I install amina chargers myself?**
No. EV chargers are part of the fixed electrical installation and must be installed by a registered electrician in all markets where amina operates.

**How is amina C & M different from amina S?**
amina S is designed for residential use with Zigbee/Bluetooth smart home integration and no network subscription required. amina C and M are built on the same hardware platform but add LTE connectivity, RFID, OCPP communication, and factory pre-configuration for CPO/CPMS integration. amina M also adds a MID-certified energy meter for legally compliant billing.
